Black Ivory Footage From Back in the Day!
How cool is this! Leroy, Stuart & Russell performing 'Don't Turn Around' and 'I Keep Asking You Questions' live and in glorious Seventiesscope.
Leroy tells me the footage is from a show called 'Soul' on Public Television from 1970. The hunt for Black Ivory's 'Soul Train' appearance continues.

You can catch Black Ivory live in New York this month, as part of the "Oh What A Classic Soul" Night in Paradise at The Paradise Theater. Also on the bill The Mighty Dells, Harold Melvin's Blue notes, G.Q. featuring Emanuel Rahiem, Meli'sa Morgan, Howard Hewett, The Floaters and Eddie Holman.

Leroy Live In Rome
As we mentioned, Leroy is due in Rome in October. Italian fans should watch this space, as we hope to publish details of a live show by Leroy while he's in the eternal city.

Leroy in Rome - October 04
Leroy has been invited to be a guest lecturer at this years Red Bull Music Academy which will take place in Rome, Italy.

The Red Bull Music Academy: a unique environment where musical innovators shed light on the history, the motivations and the technology behind the tunes that you love. It's a place where ideas are expanded and friendships are forged in real time. It's where sonic theorists meet up with beat junkies and communicate the best way they know how - through music.
Each year a group of participants are selected from a diverse range of musical landscapes, cultures and skill sets. They are mixed together to jam experiences over two fortnight-long sessions, and in 2004, the location will be Rome, Italy. It's a city of dynamic flux and contrast, of classic culture and futurist beats in the heart of Italy. We'd love to see you there, but sadly, the application phase is over by now, this year's chosen sixty have been announced. Keep watching this space for further updates - not only, but especially during the Rome sessions, October 3 – 15 (term one) and October 24 – November 5 (term two).
Leroy will be attending for a few days during term one.

Black Ivory to play NYC in November 04

Black Ivory on DVD
For the first time Black Ivory are available on DVD. Urbanland Music have released CDs and DVDs of some of the live shows they have promoted over the last few years. One of the featured acts is our very own Black Ivory. Hey Leroy! is currently awaiting delivery of a set, and will post full details when it arrives. In the meantime, if you want to order 'The Big Show' for yourself, go to the Urbanland Music online store.
